I’ve had a chance to play with FX Photo Studio Pro myself and while I still love Lightroom for my hard-core editing (like professional projects), Photo Studio Pro is great (even awesome) when I just want to be creative with my pictures. New in the our Deals Hub, FX Photo Studio Pro is usually $40 in the Mac App Store, but you can get it for $20 now!

Sure, iPhoto is pretty good and Aperture is powerful, but neither of them are really designed for effects (or layering effects), which is where FX Photo Studio Pro comes in. You know it’s not magic right? You know that all it takes is practice, the right image, and…the right software. There’s something about a really well-edited photo that just “pops”. Maybe it’s making the sky explode with a surreal blue or a cloudy sky that just feels foreboding. We’ve all seen those amazing images that have been edited that they, well, just make you stop and look for a while.
